1.How will determining my color palette help me?
Many clients seek my insight because they are stuck in a style rut of wearing black, white, grey or navy most of the time. Understanding your seasonal color palette helps you select more diverse wardrobe options that complement your skin tone and draw out your natural beauty. It also opens up an array of colors that you can use in all areas of your life, from manicures to home décor.
2.How much time should I set aside for a color analysis?
Plan to set aside up to two hours for an in-person color analysis. If conducting your consultation virtually, plan for one hour since I complete much of the process prior to the call with provided photos.
3.Why do you use the 4-season approach to color analysis?
This is simply the best and most accurate approach to determining ideal color palettes. Based on feedback, the results have been life-altering for clients which proves its effectiveness. Over time, I have tested and adapted the 4-season approach with modern day style in mind, discovering unique blends of the seasonal palettes that work beautifully.
4.I live in black, and I’m afraid you might tell me black doesn’t suit me. Is this a possibility?
It’s a possibility, but black might also be within your ideal color palette. I encourage clients to relax and go into their color analysis with an open mind and willingness to try different colors. I focus on showing clients what they can wear – not what they shouldn’t wear – and if black is a personal preference, I will demonstrate how to incorporate it into your wardrobe.
5.Are women of color always winters?
Women of color are not always winters using my method. Different skin tones and eye colors for women of color often result in different color palettes.
6.Why can’t you tell me what season I am just by looking at me once?
Determining your seasonal color palette is a multi-step, scientific process. I could venture a guess from a quick look, but it likely won’t be accurate without following my tried and true strategic process that takes several factors into account.
7.Is an online tool as effective in determining my colors?
Online tools are not as effective due to so many variables that help determine an accurate outcome. A color analysis conducted by a person with expertise cannot be substituted by a computer or checking boxes that identify your characteristics and preferences. While I do offer virtual color analysis, that option only became available last year after exhaustive testing and assessment of my virtual process which still utilizes color drapes to determine color palettes. My unique 3-stage virtual process is nearly a replica of the in-person experience.
8.Will I need to touch base with you on a regular basis once I have my colors done?
It’s not required, but you might find it beneficial to touch base with me a few times each year if you plan to shop for new clothing for a new season. My method is designed to give you the tools and confidence to create looks for yourself, which often starts to happen before the session even ends. I will also provide a swatch booklet of your ideal colors, for you to have as a handy guide to support your journey.
9.Will getting a tan change my color palette?
A tan will not change your color palette. Your color palette will stay with you through seasons and with slightly-changing skin tone.
10.If I am older, will this process still work for me?
Of course! Regardless of age, a color analysis is among the rare fashion and beauty investments that only needs to be done once in your lifetime. Your preferences and style may change, but your colors will not.
11.Will you keep asking me to have my colors done every year?
No, my color analysis is a one-time investment in yourself.
12.I only wear black, white and grey. What can you do for me?
Clients who come to me with a predominantly black, white or grey wardrobe are common. I am committed to opening up a whole new world of color to you, introducing a palette of exciting color options that will significantly elevate your level of confidence.
13.Do you work with my existing colors?
Yes, I will help you work your favorite colors into your style with your new color palette. Just be open about your preferences, and the outcome will incorporate both.
14.Can I buy extra swatch booklets for my family and friends?
Absolutely! Many clients purchase extra swatch booklets to provide to friends and family for gift-giving holidays so they can select gifts with your new colors in mind. This is a great idea so you are not gifted clothing or accessories you won’t end up wearing.
15.Can I wear makeup during my color analysis?
It’s strongly recommended that you go makeup-free for your color analysis to ensure you get the best results with your natural complexion.
